X World 2018 Call for Presenters

X World is our annual training event for OS X and iOS system administrators and support staff, and will be held at UTS, Sydney. This year the event will run June 27-29.

We are now calling for presenters who wish to offer sessions and workshops at this year’s event. If you have a background in the installation, configuration, deployment, or on-going administration of OS X based systems, or experience in iOS deployment, management and app development, or if you work in related areas, we’d really like to hear from you. Presenters receive free registration to X World, and qualify for subsidised flights and/or accommodation.

The call for presentations is now open, and closes Friday April 27, 2018, at 9pm Sydney time. Offers can be made by completing the submission form.

Want to request a session at X World? Submit an idea on our requests board. We can’t guarantee anyone will pick it up and run with it, but you might just inspire someone else to share their experience!



CreateWorld 2017 Registrations Open

CreateWorld is back for another year from 29 November to 1 December, at Griffith University, South Bank, Brisbane.

Specifically for academic, teachers, and technical staff who use Apple technology in the education and digital arts disciplines, the conference features a wide range of academic and technical presenters from the education and industry sectors, and includes keynotes, panel sessions, hypotheticals, hands-on technical workshops, and regular presentation sessions.

Early bird and student sales are now open. Early bird sales close November 10, and all sales close 9pm AEDT, Tuesday November 21, 2017.

CreateWorld Call for Participation

CreateWorld is our 3 day performance, presentation, and professional development event, specifically for academics, teachers and technical and staff who use Apple platforms in the digital arts disciplines.

CreateWorld 2017 will take place at the Queensland College of Art at Griffith University, South Bank, Brisbane from November 29 to December 1.

The conference features a wide range of academic and technical presenters from education and industry, and includes several keynotes, panel sessions, hypotheticals, hands-on technical workshops, and regular presentation sessions.

The organising committee has issued a call for participation and are seeking posters, papers, performances, exhibitions, workshops and presentation sessions. This year’s theme is Creativity on the Move, and we’re especially interested in explorations of augmented reality (AR) and teaching software development both for and on mobile devices.

/dev/world 10th Anniversary!

/dev/world is back for its tenth year, from August 28 to August 30, once again in the heart of Melbourne at RMIT.

If you want to learn about iOS and OS X development, this is the one event in Australia you don’t want to miss. This year’s event will be our biggest yet with more than 35 sessions and workshops packed with great technical content on developing for Apple devices.

Our keynotes this year include Sal Soghoian (http://macosxautomation.com), Marc Edwards (Bjango), Russell Ivanovic (Shifty Jelly), Matt Gallagher (Cocoa With Love), and Jake MacMullin (Stripy Sock), and we have many other sessions on a huge range of topics, as well as great pre-conference workshops (included with all tickets) on Behaviour Driven Development, App Design, giving great technical presentations, and game development.

Sessions details for most X World 2017 sessions have now been posted, with more to come soon, and registrations are now open. Early-bird registrations close 9pm AEST, 2 June, 2017 – be sure to register prior to then to obtain the best rate!

Thanks to the awesome regional MacAdmins community, we’ve got a great line-up of content and have a full day of optional workshops for the first time since 2012. Once again we’ve partnered with Jamf Software to bring you the latest information on OS X and iOS deployment.  We hope to see you there!


/dev/world announced for August, CFP now open

/dev/world is back again, running August 28-30, 2017. This year will be our tenth anniversary, and we’re incredibly pleased to be able to partner again with RMIT University in Melbourne for this year’s event. The call for presenters is now open – why not offer a talk and help us make this the biggest, best /dev/world yet!

WWDC Student Scholarship Travel Assistance

If you’re a currently enrolled student at an Australian or New Zealand University, and you win an Apple Student Scholarship to attend WWDC 2017 (results announced on or before Friday, April 21, 2017), we might be able to help out with your expenses. We’ve allocated 3 student support scholarships of $1500 each to assist with airfares. Conditions apply, and applications close May 5 at 5pm (Sydney time).
