2026 /dev/world and X World News

/dev/world comes to Sydney for the first time!

We’re taking /dev/world on tour for the first time ever, with a special event at the Australian National Maritime Museum in Pyrmont from July 2-3. This is our unofficial “WWDC after party”, and we’re thrilled to be able to present it in partnership with Procreate.

While this is a different beast from the usual /dev/world, it still includes everything you know (minus the quiz – that stays in Melbourne, where it belongs!)

We’ll have special presentations from Natalia Panferova on SwiftUI and Oliver Weidlich on visionOS, and plenty more. Final topics will be locked in after WWDC and the full schedule will be posted in June. Grab a ticket.

X World and /dev/world Melbourne CFP now open

As well as our exciting Sydney news, /dev/world and X World are returning August 25-28 at the Seek campus in Naarm/Melbourne. These events will run consecutively, with X World on August 25-26, and /dev/world August 27-28.

What’s even better than attending an AUC event? Presenting at one! The CFP for both Melbourne events is now open, and closes Friday 3 July, 8pm AEST. There’s a common submission form for both events, so pick a stream. We’ll shuffle you across if you land on the wrong one.

And if you’ve never done this before, do it anyway. We love first-time speakers, and you’ll find our community super supportive and welcoming. And getting a proposal accepted means a free ticket plus travel and accommodation support (within limits). Want to talk it through first? Email us at contributions@auc.edu.au.
